Odyssey

Make Art of Your Battles.
Odyssey: A visual and written memoir documenting the pursuit of light within the darkness.

Every life is a journey. Not all of them are graceful. But grace is not the absence of struggle — it is what you choose to do inside of it.

In 2016, Ninja Nay chose to create.

“Stop putting your spirit in the hands of your defeats and put it in the hands of your triumphs” – Ninja Nay

The Story Behind The Pages

Odyssey was born from one of the heaviest years of her life — a Lupus diagnosis, and the loss of both a beloved aunt and her best friend within four weeks of each other. What could have been a breaking point became a becoming.

Rather than surrender, she picked up her camera. She dressed herself up on the days she could barely stand. She wrote without filter, without performance, without apology. The result is a body of work that lives at the intersection of editorial artistry and radical honesty — stunning self-portraits paired with raw, unedited journal entries that trace the quiet evolution of a survivor learning to navigate.

Odyssey is not a story about what happened to her. It is a map of how she moved through it.

You Can Too

For anyone who has sat with grief and not known what to do with it. For the creative who has made something beautiful out of something painful. For the person searching for permission to feel it all — the low and the joy, the loss and the becoming.

Odyssey is proof that every chapter of your life, even the ones you didn’t write willingly, holds a lesson worth carrying.

You can navigate this life too.

The Conversation

Odyssey has opened doors beyond the page. In a rare extended interview with Mack Unfolds, Ninja Nay sat down to unpack the book in full, from her Lupus diagnosis and the grief of 2016, to love, mortality, music, and what it truly means to navigate this life with intention. Called “a beautiful tribute to the complexities of this life experience,” the conversation is as much a companion to the book as it is a portrait of the woman behind it.

The Story Continues

In March 2026, six days before undergoing surgery for the return of thyroid cancer after 15 years, Ninja Nay sat down in front of a camera one more time. Not to perform. Not to promote. But to document.

In Reflection is a cinematic interview that captures her in the space between what was and what comes next — processing the profound irony of relaunching a book about survival at the exact moment survival is back on the table. It is living proof that Odyssey was never just a chapter. It is a way of moving through this life.
